It’s #FiveMinuteFriday!
So, here’s the skinny: every Friday for over a year hundreds of people join a kind of writing flash mob over here.
We write for five minutes flat. All on the same prompt that Lisa Jo posts at 1 minute past midnight EST every Friday. And we connect on Twitter with the hashtag #FiveMinuteFriday
No extreme editing; no worrying about perfect grammar, font, or punctuation.
Unscripted. Unedited. Real.
Are you ready
GO
LOOK
LOOK around you.
I am here.
Always have been.
Always will be.
Taking care of you. LOOKing out for you. Watching over you.
That unexpected income deposited in your checking account exactly when you needed it?
That was Me.
The free oil change for single moms happening right when your oil change light came on?
Me again.
Remember the $25 gift card promo that ‘just happened’ to be running when you switched office supply vendors?
Me.
Remember the $10 gift card promo for each Sam’s Club renewal exactly when you were renewing both yours and your boss’s company memberships, and that she told you to keep?
Me.
Remember the email you got about the $50 bonus for Shop Your Way Personal Shoppers when clients order $500 or more by October 31st? Remember the VERY NEXT DAY when your boss told you to order a new refrigerator for the breakroom from Sears? And it cost $550?
ME.
And the old refrigerator that worked just fine? Remember your boss saying to take it if you want it?
Yep, ME.
Stop LOOKing at your problems and worrying about what might or might not happen long enough to LOOK AT HOW I AM TAKING CARE OF YOU.
LOOK at how I have provided EXACTLY what you need EXACTLY when you need it. No more. No less.
LOOK to Me. I am the Author and Perfector of your faith. Not you. Not your circumstances. ME. I will show Myself faithful.
Your job is only to keep LOOKing at Me.
I’ll take care of the rest.
Always have.
Always will.
Always.
STOP
Wanna play? Here’s how:
1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments.

I have taken to keeping a journal because even though God shows up, I forget so easily those kinds of mini miracles when His hand is so present. And I think I won’t forget but the next trial has me doubting. Such a wonderful testament to His care and provision for you and now you have it here for all the world to see and for yourself to come back to when you just need a quick reminder of His love and care for you. Our Amazing God, so blessed.
Posted by narrowpathstohigherplaces | October 19, 2012, 12:24 amIt’s so easy to lose focus. Keeping a journal (or blog!) is a great way to remind yourself of the ways He is working for you. Thanks for stopping by!
Posted by Nancy | October 19, 2012, 5:59 amso true… He’s always there… wasn’t that part of the lesson for Job? “Before I’d heard of your wonders. Now I have seen.” (a paraphrase…)
such a prayer – open my eyes, that I may see… but we’ve got to be looking, too!
Posted by richelle @ "our wright"-ing pad | October 19, 2012, 1:33 amSo easy to miss the blessings if we are too busy looking around instead of up. Thanks for stopping by!
Posted by Nancy | October 19, 2012, 5:56 amI love journaling.
Posted by shortybear | October 19, 2012, 7:44 amOhhh, yes yes yes!! This is absolutely gorgeous and soooo filled with loving and looking, looking and loving. Thank you for stopping by my Five Minute Friday post, too. I appreciate your kind words & scripture.

Posted by Nancy | October 19, 2012, 1:41 pmYou are so right. Just because we’re not looking doesn’t mean He isn’t there. It is we who have turned away.
Posted by Holly | October 19, 2012, 3:12 pm“Look” what I have found. Someone who “looks” at life like me! Love this post! Love this Truth! “Looking” forward to “looking” here again!
